Wedge midsole's have been implemented into a range of Adidas shoes; as shown below in the Adidas Dragon.

Wedge midsole's are usually implemented into Adidas running shoes: the reason being, the midsole provides cushioning where it's needed - the heel - and does not where it's not essential - the forefoot - ensuring the shoe maintains a minimum of material, remains lightweight, and improves athletic performance. Wedge midsole's tend to be made from EVA foam, a rubber-like elastomeric polymer, ideal as shock absorbing padding.
