Both Canada and the United States of America use a range of coloured
triangle badges to refer to standards for their safety shoes/boots.
The organisations which are responsible for footwear standards in
Canada and the United States of America are as follows,
United States of America = American Society for Testing and Materials
Canada = Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
Sadly, to confuse consumers even more, the meaning of the triangles
differs between the ASTM and CSA standards. Generally speaking,
the triangles refer to protection for; toe caps, sole puncture,
anti-static, electricity and heat.
