Q: What can I do if the shoes I order do not fit?

  A: updated (02/02/2012)

The Sale of Goods Act 1979 - for the UK - states that consumers have a 14 day period to change their mind over the item they have purchased, and are entitled to an exchange, refund, compensation, or repair. The one exception is when a consumer has purchased clothes or shoes which do not fit. The good news is that if you have ordered by mail or over the Internet, you should be entitled to an replacement or refund (as long as the shoes are unused). You will find that the vast majority of footwear retailers on the Internet have a clearly presented returns policy promising a no quibbles refund if the shoes do not fit.
