Q: Adidas apologise for spelling "Colombia" as "Columbia"

A Adidas are the current kit manufacturer of the Colombia national football team; who are currently participating in the Copa America tournament. During the build-up to the tournament, Adidas have advertised / marketed the Colombian national football kit with the misspelling "Columbia".

The spelling mistake was made by the North American subsidiary company of the Adidas Group (AG); based in Portland, Oregon. The company has released a statement apologising for the mistake: "We value our partnership with the Colombian Football Federation and apologize for our mistake. We removed these graphics and are quickly installing new versions today."

Adidas became the official kit manufacturer of the Colombia national football team in 2011. The commercial deal between Adidas and the Colombian national football association has coincided with one of Colombia's most successful 'spells' in international football; they are currently ranked third in FIFA's world ranking algorithm.

The Copa América Centenario 2016 - celebrating a 100 years of the Copa America - is held in the United States, and is the first Copa América to be hosted outside of South America. Colombia opened the tournament with a 0-2 win against the United States, and followed that with a 2-1 win against Paraguay. The tournament is currently in it's 2nd week, and the final will be held on the 27th of June.
