AAdidas posted a picture of a same-sex couple on it's Instagram account on Valentine's Day. The picture was accompanied with the slogan: ""The love you take is equal to the love you make.". The post was well received and received over two hundred thousand likes. However, the post did receive some homophobic comments, with some comments stating they will "leave Adidas and switch to Nike products". The Adidas marketing team were not flustered by the comments and responded with smilie kiss emotes to the majority of prominent homophobic comments. Adidas's promotion of same-sex relationships in it's online marketing is another sign that corporations are acknowledging that a sizable proportion of their customers are homosexual and the amount of people they may alienate in the process is lowering.
