Q: Adidas Supernova Glide 8: shoe voted Runner's World Editor's Choice

A The Adidas Supernova Glide 8 is an 'all-round' running shoe that has twice been voted the editor's choice award by the Runner's World magazine. The design of the shoe is distinctively Adidas - with it's trademark three stripe design - and is suitable for road and cross country running.

The standout feature of the Supernova Glide 8 is the Boost technology: developed and trademarked by Adidas, it's a cushioning system that returns energy with every step taken. Adidas state that the Boost technology "charges" each step taken with energy. The upper of the shoe is made from a synthetic mesh material that allows the foot to breath by allowing air to enter through the gaps in the mesh material; Adidas describe the mesh material as "premium-fit".

The outersole of the shoe is made from Continental rubber: which Adidas state is suitable for all weather conditions and provides superior grip to their 'normal' rubber soles. The middle of the shoe's midsole features the Torsion System: included in most medium-long distance Adidas running shoes, the Torsion System provides arch support and helps retain energy. The shoe weighs 314 g (size 8.5 UK) which is by no-means the lightest Adidas running shoe, but is good enough for a medium-long distance running shoe.
