A Middlesbrough FC has announced that they have agreed to extend their kit deal with Adidas. The announcement comes quick 'on the heels' of Middlesbrough's promotion to the Premier League; which was secured last weekend after a nail biting 1-1 draw versus their nearest rival Brighton. The last time that Middlesbrough FC competed in the Premier League was in 2009. Neil Bausor, CEO of Middlesbrough FC, has said: We are delighted to extend our commercial partnership with Adidas and are looking forward to working together with them in the Premier League. Bausor did not state how long the extension will run for, or how much the extension is worth; it is likely to considerable higher than the current deal, with the extra worldwide exposure Middlesbrough will receive from competing in the Premier League. Gavin Thomson, a spokesman for Adidas, said: Adidas are proud of the progress made by the club as they return to the top flight, and we are excited by the next chapter in our partnership." There will be a new Adidas home kit for the 2016-2017 season, and, of course, the new home kit will be in the club's traditional red with white detailing.
