The Adidas Jamaica is a trainer, named in honour of the Caribbean island of Jamaica, that is a part of the Island Series of Adidas trainers. The Jamaican nation has had a turbulent and violent history since it's independence, but is renowned the world over for it's reggae music, rastafari movement, sports and athletic prowess, jerk spice cuisine, and the beauty of it's island. The Jamaican flag features the colours yellow, black and green; with most Jamaican national sports teams wearing apparel in a combination of these colours.
The traditional and iconic colourway of the Adidas Jamaica is shown above; a yellow suede upper with black leather overlays. The heel patch of the shoe also features a trefoil logo in yellow. The trainer also features it's name printed alongside the three-stripes leather overlays, and is printed in gold foil; a standard practice with most Adidas heritage trainers. The shoe has the standard vintage Adidas design: a flat rubber outsole and the three-stripe / heel patch overlays. The Adidas Jamaica is periodically available for purchase from the official Adidas webstore (adidas.co.uk); although it can be found for sale from third party retailers. The shoe, while being a part of the Originals heritage products, is not one of Adidas' best selling shoes: it tends to be viewed as a niche sneakerhead's collectable, whose desirability is increased by it's limited availability. The trainer has a RRP of £75.00, but is often discounted to £50.00.
