The Adidas Clima Cool 1 (Version One) - also referred to as ClimaCool 1 or CC1 - was originally released in 2002 and is a running shoe that launched the climacool® technology. Climacool® is a system that provides 360-degree ventilation - you can view the ventilation ridges in the 'mesh' upper of the shoe below - and, as the name would suggest, it helps to cool the foot while running. Alongside ventilation for the upper of the shoe, the climacool® system also provides ventilation for the insole and outsole of the Clima Cool 1; hence the claim by Adidas that it proves "360-degree ventilation".
The Adidas Clima Cool 1 is one of a handful of Adidas shoes that features it's own logo (shown below right), but, the shoe's upper still features a three stripe design. The Clima Cool 1 also features Adiprene® in the forefoot and heel of the shoe: this technology provides impact cushioning for the heel and propulsion for the forefoot. Adidas also state that Adiprene® helps to produce a "smooth stride" while running. The mid-section and toe-section of the shoe's upper features a TPU (plastic) overlay that provides impact protection for the toes and overall structural strength. Alongside Adiprene®, the midsole also features moulded EVA for additional comfort.
